AgDay and U.S. Farm Report Join RFD-TV

South Bend, IN/ Nashville, TN (February 11, 2009) Farm Journal Media and RFD-TV announce that the nation’s longest-running agricultural television programs will appear on the nation’s first television network dedicated to agriculture and rural America. The result will be expanded distribution for AgDay and U.S. Farm Report, further serving RFD-TV’s audience with daily and weekly news programming.

AgDay, Farm Journal Media’s daily television news program, launches weekdays beginning March 2nd with back-to-back airings at 5:00AM and 5:30AM EST. The program will soon move to a later and permanent morning slot. Now in its 27th year of production, AgDay, with host Scott Kinrade and agribusiness director Al Pell, focuses on news, weather, markets and the rural way of life.

Beginning the weekend of March 7–8, U.S. Farm Report airs Saturday mornings at 10:00AM EST and again Sundays at 4:00PM. On the air since 1976 and hosted by Illinois farmer and columnist John Phipps, U.S. Farm Report keeps a pulse on agriculture and agribusiness.

”We welcome AgDay and U.S. Farm Report to our family of programmers,” states Kelly Kantz, vice president and general manager of RFD-TV. “The addition of these two shows further expands the daily news, weather and market information offered by RFD-TV to better serve American farmers/ranchers, who make up such a large percentage of our viewership.”

“Today’s television world is increasingly about making great programming available in as many places as possible,” says Brian Conrady, vice president and general manager of Farm Journal Electronic Media. “This new relationship with RFD-TV completes our DBS [direct broadcast satellite] coverage and adds cable to our broadcast syndication and Web outlets, making it easier than ever for our loyal audience to watch our shows.”
