RFD-TV To Broadcast Live from Commodity Classic
Thursday, February 26 3:30-5:30P ET & Friday, February 27 6:00-8:00P ET

NASHVILLE, TN. /GRAPEVINE, TX. --RFD-TV will broadcast Live from The 2009 Commodity Classic in Grapevine, Texas. RFD-TV News Director Mark Oppold will anchor a 2-hour Live broadcast Thursday, February 26 from 3:30-5:30PM ET and a 2-hour broadcast on Friday, February 27 from 6-8PM ET.

Both broadcasts will originate from the trade show floor. “We want to be where the producers and their suppliers are,” says Oppold. “We also want to bring the convention into the homes of those producers who could not attend.”

Also included in the broadcast will be guests from the seed, chemical and fertilizer industries that will share new product information for 2009, and provide a glimpse into what’s new in the research pipeline. Brian and Darren Hefty, seen on AgPhD on RFD-TV will also join Mark during these broadcasts.

“The Economic Stimulus Package has ramifications for rural America and we will have guests who can provide the details,” stated Oppold.

The Commodity Classic brings together producer members of four major commodity organizations: National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association, National Association of Wheat Growers, and National Sorghum Producers. The informative and exciting trade show will feature more than 200 agricultural companies. The show kicks off with its Trade Show Grand Opening at 2:30PM CT on Thursday February 26 and runs through Saturday February 28 .

Oppold also says the Commodity Classic is perfectly positioned for producers. “When producers return home after Commodity Classic, spring is just 3 weeks away, and all this new information can immediately be used as they make final planting decisions, or marketing decisions on pricing the 2009 crop. After the historic prices seen for all commodities in 2008, producers have lots of unanswered questions leading into this crop year. We’re looking for people who have some answers, and we’re confident we’ve found them! This is the first year RFD-TV has broadcast from Commodity Classic. I’m proud to be part of this service to our viewers.”

In addition to the broadcast, RFD-TV will host space at Commodity Classic where guests are invited to stop by and meet the newest edition of the RFD-TV family: Mark Oppold- Network News Director, and hosts for RFD-TV Live, and the new program coming soon to RFD-TV, Commodity Wrap. Visitors will also learn more about the network, register for prize giveaways and have the opportunity to participate in Q & A sessions with the hosts of RFD-TV’s programs AgPhD, The American Rancher, and All Around Performance Horse Weekly.
