Marty Stuart and Connie Smith Headline RFD-TV’s Float In The 120th Rose Parade
Stuart and Smith Help Salute HEE HAW and The American Farmer & Rancher January 1, 2009
PASADENA, Calif/NASHVILLE, Tenn.—RFD-TV is proud to announce today country music icon Marty Stuart and his wife Country Queen Connie Smith as the headliners aboard RFD-TV’s Rose Parade float. Stuart and Smith will lead RFD-TV’s salute to HEE HAW and the American farmer and rancher by appearing on the cornfield stage next to the big red barn.
As host of the Marty Stuart Show on RFD-TV and a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Marty is no stranger to country music. In addition, Stuart is a proud supporter of the American farmer and rancher and places great value on traditional country music heritage.
Connie and I are both honored to be part of RFD-TVs presentation at the tournament of Roses Parade. What a great tradition.,” stated Stuart. “I am especially honored to learn that I will be saluting the American farmer and rancher. RFD-TVs support of rural people is one of the things I most appreciate about the network. Everything RFD-TV represents feels like home to me.”
On January 1, 2009, the RFD-TV float will stop for ninety (90) seconds along the parade route. At this moment, Stuart will salute the American farmer & rancher on behalf of RFD-TV and HEE HAW followed by a salute to the world. Then Stuart, Smith and the float riders will take off their hats and salute those along the Rose Parade route. To end the salute, Stuart will play his infamous mandolin and the float will begin its travels down Colorado Blvd.
