Antique Tractor Display
RFD-TV Tractor Tales continue with this
fun coincidence:
Donald Holdway of Springfield, Mo., was at
RFD-TV The Theatre in Branson, enjoying
a look at the tractors on display. Suddenly,
he stood stock still and stared.
That Minneapolis Moline Z!
It just looked soooooo familiar!
Could it be? It was!
Holdway concluded that the tractor was the
same one his father, Hollis Holdway, bought
new in 1951 in
Dallas County, Mo.
He used it and then sold it at auction in
December 1963 to a farmer north of Fair
Grove, Mo., who kept it for 39 years. Then
he sold it to Ed and Lois Little of Kirbyville,
Mo., who restored it. They had owned it for
five years, and had it out for display in
Branson.
Holdway recalled that his father drilled holes
in the fender to add a platform so that the
kids wouldn’t fall off. He
remembered plowing
corn with that tractor
in his youth. He
believes the tractor has
its original front tires.
Immediately, Holdway
contacted the
Littles and arranged
to buy the tractor.
So now it’s
back “home,” Holdway is a happy man, and
RFD-TV is happy to have been the
homecoming “matchmaker.”
