RFD-TV CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF BROADCASTING - A Decade Of Growth

OMAHA, Neb. – (May 11, 2010) – RURAL MEDIA GROUP, Inc.’s flagship television network, RFD-TV, celebrates its 10th year of broadcasting.

With 10 years experience comes new audience records.  In March 2010, RFD-TV recorded it’s best-ever rating period (Nielsen) with Total Adult Weekly Viewership posting a hearty year-to-year increase of over +19.3% (11,286,000 weekly viewers).

Additional Nielsen Measured Growth Includes:

• RFD-TV Household Universe Growth: +7.8%

• RFD-TV Total Household Weekly Viewership Growth: +19.0%

Launched in 2000 by RFD-TV founder & president, Patrick Gottsch, RFD-TV continues to bridge the gap between urban and rural America.  Available today through cable operators including Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Bresnan, Charter, Suddenlink, Brighthouse, Mediacom, and Verizon FiOS TV, on satellite DISH Network and DIRECTV, and on over 625 independent cable providers, RFD-TV is proud to continue calling itself “Rural America’s Most Important Network.”

According to Gottsch: “In the case of RFD-TV, it really does only seem like yesterday this network was launched with essentially no funding, borrowed equipment, and quite honestly, not having a clue on where this was going.  Everyone thinks there was some type of grand Master Plan.  Let me tell you, there was not.”

In celebration of this milestone, the network is launching a new venture called “RFD-TV The Country Club” which allows viewers to subscribe online and have unlimited access to Video-On-Demand and LIVE streaming.  With the launch of the Country Club comes a new interactive www.rfdtv.com where viewers will be able to receive the most up to date programming news and announcements, commodity prices, weather, enter/win sweepstakes, etc.
