RFD-TV delivers $100,000 to Rider Relief Fund

Las Vegas, NV – RFD-TV presented a check for $100,000 to the Rider Relief Fund during the Professional Bull Riders “Last Cowboy Standing” event on April 16, in front of a sellout crowd at the Mandalay Bay Event Center and a large pay-per-view audience.

The Rider Relief Fund was created in 1999 as a non-profit organization to assist bullriders and bullfighters participating at all levels of competition, from youth to high school, college, and professional.

“This is a very welcome donation, as the organization is always in need of funds to continue the great work it does for athletes engaged in the sport of bull riding”, stated Randy Little, Chairman of the     Rider Relief Fund.  “It is very difficult for these athletes to obtain affordable insurance, as statistically one in every 15 rides results in injury.  RFD-TV’s generosity, along with the support of the advertisers on ‘PBR NOW on RFD-TV’ and its audience, is much appreciated by all the cowboys and everyone associated with the sport.”

RFD-TV is donating 100 percent of its net revenue from a special advertising package produced for sponsors of the weekly “PBR NOW on RFD-TV” television show.  The weekly program originates “live” from RFD-TV’s Nashville [Tenn.] Studios on Thursday evenings (10pm ET, 9pm CT, 8pm MT, 7pm PT) recapping the previous week’s PBR results and standings while looking forward to future PBR events. The show also takes phone calls from viewers and invited guests and features rotating hosts Justin McBride, J.W. Hart, and Justin McKee.

In addition, RFD-TV will be promoting a special section of tickets for future PBR events.  Viewers will be able to order online, and $10 per ticket will be donated to the Rider Relief Fund.  Purchasers will also receive a complimentary copy of RFD-TV The Magazine, and a Rider Relief Fund cap.

“We are so proud to support the Rider Relief Fund,” said Patrick Gottsch, Founder and President of Rural Media Group, Inc. “Hopefully this first $100,000 is but an advance, and with the support of our 2011 ‘PBR NOW on RFD-TV’ advertisers and viewers we plan on being back in Las Vegas in October to make another donation at the PBR World Finals.”

ABOUT THE RIDER RELIEF FUND
rrf3The RFD-TV Rider Relief Fund was created in 1999 as a non-profit organization to assist athletes involved in the sport of bull riding.  The fund is available to bull riders and bullfighters competing at all levels of competition, from youth to high school, college and professional.   In the sport of bull riding it’s not a matter of if you’ll get hurt; it’s when and how bad.  Affordable insurance in bull riding is difficult, if not, impossible to find. Statistically, one out of every 15 rides results in injury. The RFD-TV Rider Relief Fund has distributed over $1.4 million to bull riding athletes and their families at all levels.  The athletes who devote their time, talent and often their health to providing us this great sport will continue to need your support and donations.  As a non-profit charity, the RFD-TV Rider Relief Fund will do more than give you a tax deduction.  It will continue to provide these hard-working athletes with a lifeline of financial support.
