CHRIS COX, Team Rope

CHRIS COX is a horseman in every sense of the word.  On June 21st the 3-time Road to the Horse Champion secured a 2nd place finish at the Reno Rodeo Invitational Team Roping held in Reno, NV. Chris and his partner Slick Robison bested over 200 teams and ended the day with nearly $130,000 in their pockets.

Not only did Chris display that he’s an all-round hand by turning all four of his steers, but by using a horse he’d never swung a leg over before that morning. Chris’ proficient horsemanship no doubt came in handy when his own horse came up sick before the event and he borrowed pals Allen and Peggy Bach’s sorrel gelding. The major upside to finishing as Reserve Champion? Getting to come back next year to try for first place; once crowned Champion of the Reno Rodeo Invitational ropers are not able to enter again. Chris Cox fans can certainly count on his return next year to rope for the Champion title.
