RFD TV PRESENTS THE INTERNATIONAL OMAHA, EVENT EXPECTED TO ATTRACT ELITE EQUESTRIAN ATHLETES

OMAHA, NEB. – RFD TV’s The International Omaha, the first Midwest show-jumping competition, is coming to CenturyLink Center Omaha April 20-21, 2012. The competition will transform CenturyLink Center into a European-style show jumping arena and provide opportunities to learn first-hand about the equestrian sport.

“I’ve been riding and jumping horses for most of my life, so bringing an elite event to Omaha has been a life-long goal,” shared Lisa Roskens, The International Omaha’s founder and chairman, CEO and president of Burlington Capital Group. “Riders will have the opportunity to experience a premier competitive experience. Meanwhile, Nebraska families can experience the majestic horses and a sport many have grown to love.”

The International is presented by title sponsor RFD TV, the nation’s first 24-broadcast dedicated to rural lifestyle with a special emphasis on equine-related programming.

“RFD TV’s roots are in Nebraska,” shared Patrick Gottsch, RFD TV founder and president. “By sponsoring The International we are providing a meaningful experience and education about a sport we love. It was too good to pass up.”

The International will feature two classes of competition: speed derby and the grand prix. Amateur, junior and professional riders will compete in the two-day event. In total more than 200 horses and 150 riders are expected. Each course will have an average of 13 jumps, all of which will be ornately designed – including a special jump dedicated to Facebook fans of The International.

The two-day competition will also feature equestrian-related educational exhibits, including EquiMania—an interactive exhibit making its second U.S. appearance at The International.
