Theatre's Rich History Looks Forward to Another Great Season

Among television networks, RFD-TV is the closest of all to its audience. In fact, it treats them like dear friends.  And, as friends do, it invites them to come on over to  RFD-TV The Theatre for another great season this fall! It’s in the heart of the nation’s premier family-friendly entertainment action in Branson, Missouri.  This fall Brulé, Marty Stuart, Bill Anderson and Midwest Country will be performing at RFD-TV the Theatre.

Viewers who have come to RFD-TV The Theatre have enjoyed their experience.  The theatre helps give RFD-TV a “face” – and a venue to interact with the people who watch RFD-TV and believe it what the channel represents.

The theatre’s opening ceremonies in March 2007 were sensational. It starred Willie Nelson onstage, with 2,000 delighted lookalikes in the audience, as RFD-TV handed out Willie braids. The beloved singer got the crowd whoopin’ and hollerin’ and dancing in the aisles.

Sell-out crowds over throughout the last three years have been the result of a diverse gallery of entertainers, including the Beach Boys, ventriloquist Terry Fator, Lorretta Lynn, Leann Rimes, Roy Clark and the current crowd-pleaser, “Brulé.”

It all began in the mind of RFD-TV Founder Patrick Gottsch. He saw how he could broaden and deepen the rural network’s relationship with its audience, and find new fans, with a strong presence in Branson. The Ozarks town is known for its G-rated, wholesome, family-oriented fun, with frequent expressions of support for the U.S. military and traditional American values of God and family. It was a perfect fit with RFD-TV, and with Branson’s new convention center and airport going in, the infrastructure was there.

RFD-TV is now the only media-owned theatre in the Branson community, drawing crowds from nearby attractions such as Silver Dollar City, because of its great attractions, reasonable prices and ample parking. The concept is to feature many of the stars appearing on RFD-TV, performing live at RFD-TV’s theatre. Popular performers such as Marty Stuart and Bill Anderson, who logged a spectacular run at the theatre this past fall, can build their own audience loyalty onstage in Branson. Gottsch purchased the theatre in the fall of 2006. It was built many years ago by singer-songwriter-comedian Ray Stevens (Everything Is Beautiful, Turn Your Radio On, and the hilarious chicken-clucking version of In the Mood).

RFD-TV The Theatre is noted in the Branson theatre district for being warm, attractive, and unusually audience friendly, from the up-close-and-personal low stage, to the spacious red seats and the ramps in place of stairs serving half of the theatre.  Click here for more information or to purchase tickets.
