One Nation - The Tribes of North America
November 18, 2011 | Paul LaRoche
Native America is coming to television via One Nation, a brand new series on RFD-TV. Tribal communities all across North America are invited to showcase their own Native people and history on this new series. The concept for One Nation got its start January 1, 2011 with the One Nation Float, a 75-foot representation of a Fancy Dancer at the prestigious Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. The beautifully decorated float served as a spectacular showcase of the American Indian culture and earned immense interest and attention. One Nation the television series will take that exposure of the American Indian culture from a single day and expand it to a weekly television audience. One Nation…the Tribes of North America will unveil the shroud of mystery surrounding Native America today and establish a bridge into mainstream audiences. Episodes will chronicle individual Native American tribal communities, featuring their history, traditions, art, economy, leadership and future. Each episode will include beautiful cinematic reservation landscape, motion picture style soundtrack, interviews with elders and tribal leaders, annual tribal events and educational tribal history. One Nation is not only about Native America, it is produced by Native Americans. Buffalo Moon Productions will begin filming on location this fall with the series premiere slated for December 2011. Buffalo Moon Productions consists of the father and son team, Paul and Shane LaRoche. Both are enrolled members of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe of South Dakota and founders of the award-winning Native American music and dance group, Brulé. Buffalo Moon Productions is known for Hidden Heritage, a television series that shares inspiring and uplifting stories from Native America. Hosted by Paul LaRoche, Hidden Heritage premiered in 2009 and is in its second year on RFD-TV in a prime time slot with very attractive Nielson Ratings. Hidden Heritage is the only primetime television series that features the American Indian culture.
