Stir it all together and you have the most fun non-scripted family entertainment show to ever hit the screen on RFD-TV!
Call the family together! Beginning Tuesday, July 7th R5Sons will begin broadcasting on RFD-TV. This is true family entertainment where the entire family can laugh, wonder and cry together.
Everyone will enjoy watching parents, Steve and Denise, try to rope in “R5Sons,” Steve II, Shane, Clay, Chase, and Colton. The parents are serious about running the oldest hunting Lodge in remote Alaska, and yet they try to let the boys have fun while they tackle jobs where everything is 10 times more difficult in the wild and remote environment of Rainy Pass, Alaska.
The setting of this new family program is the stunning Alaskan wilderness.
However, the 5 sons who range in age from 19 – 27, make the show even more interesting. The boys were all born in Alaska and they seem to have the wild and adventure of Alaska running through their DNA. Steve II is the oldest and lives only to hunt, fish, and be a part of the wilderness. Shane seems to be able to fix everything at the lodge with all its old cabins and outbuildings; however, he too is always seeking the excitement of living in remote Alaska. Clay seems to find his way into trouble while seeking new exploits and his adventurous spirit has led him to become the only one in the family to become a bush pilot. The bush planes are the only connection the family has with the outside world.
Chase seems to be the most spiritual of the boys and also quite the ladies’ man – what a combination. He also balances a career as a fireman in Anchorage with his love for and commitment to the family and the Lodge.
Colton is the youngest of the boys and although he’s a little shy, the tough challenges of living at the Lodge brings out the best in him, so he is mature beyond his years. Colton’s youth also keeps him on the continual quest for new escapades. Other characters in this real life adventure include: Jana, Shane’s wife, who is the resident nurse at Rainy Pass Lodge and cook (and whatever else is needed) and Buckey, who has been living and guiding at Rainy Pass Lodge for 45 years and who is a museum piece himself as well as owning and maintaining a fascinating living museum at the Lodge.
Two other key characters are Steve and Denise, parents who are always balancing two essential goals: make the Lodge business work and raise their 5 sons to be honorable men of character. And those are two HUGE jobs! Share in their victories and defeats as they look at each other many days and say, “How are we going to make this all work with R5 Sons?”
