Farm Journal Television is proud to announce the launch of Outdoors on the Farm, a new program showcasing farmers and ranchers who are improving habitat and at the same time generating new sources of revenue from their property.

Outdoors on the Farm is hosted by Chip Flory, editor of the Pro Farmer newsletter and an avid outdoorsman. From fishing and hunting to habitat and property management, Chip combines his expertise in production agriculture with his love for the outdoors to bring these success stories to life.

“All across the country, forward-thinking producers are utilizing their land for more than just crop and livestock production,” Flory says. “It’s an honor to put a spotlight on landowners who are committed to protecting and preserving their property for years to come.”

Along with Flory, Outdoors on the Farm will feature a team of expert contributors to cover a wide range of farm and outdoors activities.

Chip's daughter, Emily, is an up-and-coming outdoors person who will bring you stories of Women in the Outdoors.

Chip's son, Thomas, is an enthusiastic and accomplished outdoorsman himself and will help guide the youth in your life to enjoy the outdoors as much as you do.

Steve Burda’s insights into hunting, fishing and trapping farms in eastern Iowa will help you make the most of the time you've got to spend in the outdoors.

Todd Sterrett is the owner and operator of Arrowhead Kennels in Hudson, Iowa. His quick and easy-to-understand dog handling and training tips will make your time with your four-legged hunting partners more fun.

Speaking of four-legged partners, Loren Schweer is a northeast Iowa farmer and equine enthusiast (with a twist). He'll bring a nostalgic connection between the outdoors and farming as he features his mules and offer tips on how to squeeze more time outdoors into a busy farming schedule.

And if habitat and farm-pond management is your interest, wildlife biologist Scott Rolfes will help maximize your outdoors enjoyment with some easy management tips.
