Founded in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, the National FFA Organization is the country’s largest youth organization with nearly 500,000 members and more than 7,200 chapters nationwide. FFA prepares young people for success with a wide range of academic, leadership and career development activities.

FFA helps prepare students for careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. It functions as part of a school’s agricultural education program, helping to combine rigorous academic instruction with relevant hands-on experience. Students between the ages of 12 and 21 who are enrolled in a school’s agricultural education program are eligible for membership.

Chapters participate in community service activities and plan outreach events to educate children and communities about the importance of agriculture. Annually, FFA awards more than $2.5 million in scholarships. In addition to their projects, jobs and chapters activities, members can take part in dynamic leadership conferences, international travel and conventions.
