JOHN LYONS JOINS
HORSES ON RFD-TV
John and Jody Lyons invite you into
their life and into their family,
home, barns and horses. Take
trips with them to the
mountains, prairie, and
seashores. John and
Jody, with the help of
their friends and family
want to give you the
knowledge you’re looking
for to have a great
relationship with your
horse, plus having some
fun along the way.
Here is your chance to watch and learn from the trainer whom,
from the very beginning, was instrumental in changing an
industry. John has received many awards for his outstanding
ability as a teacher of people and horses by many organizations,
Universities, and expos such as Equitana, and Equine Affaire.
Many of the trainers and clinicians today use many of his
methods and are passing them along in their clinics, shows, and
demonstrations. Over one hundred eighty certified trainers and
clinicians from the United States and other countries have
completed his certification program in Colorado and are passing
his techniques along to other horse owners. His approach to
teaching horses and people continues to be a progressing model
and standard for the horse industry. Twenty four years of
teaching experience, thousands of horses and being a leader in
the
industry guarantees the information you will receive on this
show
will be just what you want, what your horse needs, and what you
will enjoy.
The show promises to be both entertaining and informative for
both the horse owner and non-horse owner. Each one hour show
will be packed with John’s horse training techniques that
you can
use on your horse, which will solve your most difficult problems
or develop that ‘want to’ attitude and relationship
you have
always dreamed of having with your horse. Topics to be covered
on horse training are as wide as the horse himself. From solving
trail problems, show problems, or behavior problems such as
buddy sour, barn sour, leading, pulling back while standing tied,
rearing, kicking, trailering and loading, or dealing with vet
problems, John will give you problem solving solutions to these
and many more in ways that are safe for you and your horse.
How about the higher-level performance horse owner who wants
to improve their horse’s performance? Are you showing western
pleasure, trail, reining, jumping, eventing, doing dressage,
driving, wanting to work cattle, rope or team pen? This show
is
for you because John will demonstrate ways to help you to really
improve your horse’s performance. Exercises for the show
horse
at all levels of performance and almost every style of riding
will be
demonstrated at one time or another on the show. This is your
show, so write John’s web site and tell him what areas
of
performance you would like to see him cover on the show. He
can help you with your horse’s performance in a very short
period
of time.
Want to go trail riding, camping, see some beautiful sites with
your horse and enjoy him at the campfire with coffee on a
beautiful morning? Well, come on along ‘cause that’s
where we’re
going. How about introducing your horse to cattle? If you want
to rope, team pen, go on a cattle drive or a wagon train ride,
then
come along with us and let’s go play ‘cause we like
to do those
things, too. We will show you a way you can have a great time
on the trail with a calm, safe, enjoyable horse – your
horse. It’s
all in how you teach your horse and you’re learning first,
so come
on! We will help you.
Would you like to teach your horse some fun tricks, to lie down,
sit up, say yes or no when asked? We can help. How about the
practical; kneel down so you can get on or come to you when you
call him? It’s a piece of cake - you can do it and we can
help. We
can help you get your horse to stand on a stool, walk to you
over
a tarp, drag an object to you, or jump a jump while coming to
you. It’s all fun, it’s training for you and your
horse and it’s going
to come right into your home, thanks to RFD-TV.
Over the years many of you have said, John, I want to know how
to take care of my horse. How can I tell if my saddle fits? What
saddle pad helps my horse the most and how can I tell that it
does? How can I tell if the bandage is on right? How can I help
my horse if he is sick or getting sick? What drugs should I keep
at the barn, horse trailer, what about his teeth, his basic health,
and what should I tell the vet when I call him when my horse
is
sick, to help the vet help me? I know you want practical
information in terms you can understand that will help you help
your horse. You’re right - being a horseman is more than
just
riding or training your horse. It’s learning how to take
good care
of our horse and knowing what the difference is between a good
sales job, and good equipment.
I have found just the person to help both of us learn. He is
a real
scientist who evaluates products independently and on a scientific
basis. At OSU, he was the lead professor of Veterinary medicine,
held the Biggs/Oxley Endowed Professorship in Equine
Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, and was Director of
the
Equine Sports Medicine Laboratory. (That is a scientist that
evaluates products that are good for our horses).
He was second in command at Cornell University and Chief of
Orthopaedic Veterinary surgery as well. His clinical practice
involved training veterinary students, interns and residents
at the
Universities in diagnoses and treatment of racehorses, polo
horses, rodeo athletes, endurance horses, and pleasure horses.
In
other words, he is a teacher with knowledge and is willing to
share
that knowledge.
He has traveled all over the world doing lectures, demonstrations,
writing books, and published papers on many aspects of surgery,
lameness, and care of our horses. He has over thirty years of
experience in treating and loving horses and teaching people.
Besides all of this knowledge, he is also a horseman, which means
he is just like us. He loves his horses and is practical. He
rides, he trains, he ropes, he shoes, he’s ours to share
with you and he’s
special. He lives in Hawaii with his wife Melanie and that doesn’t
hurt because we’re going there too - just to ride on the
beach and
have some fun, so come along with us. His name is Dr. Michael
Collier, DVM, and he will be on our show in January in “Help
Me Help My Horse”. Don’t miss it.
We’re still not finished. We need one more of the ‘best
of the
best’.
He is one of the top five overall trainers in the world. He is
only
twenty-eight years old, but has already been teaching professional horse
trainers for ten years. He is a great teacher and a better
horseman. He can teach a horse to do almost anything you want,
from tricks to world-class performance in almost any event and
any style of riding.
He has won the Horse Whisper Challenge, worked with
mustangs, unbroken horses, problem horses, performance horses
of all types, has taught clinics, and is the head teacher and
trainer
of the most respected certification program in the country. He’s
been the headline speaker, demonstrator and entertainer at many
of the major horse expos around the country and in other parts
of the world. He is our son, and we are very proud of him. He
is Josh Lyons and he will be there for you and your horse on
our
show. He’s another person you won’t want to miss.
All of these things are for your horse, but what about you? Do
we have help for you and some of your needs? The answer is yes.
Can we help you with your fear? Yes.
Can we help you with your anger towards your horse? Yes. Your
frustration? Yes. Your consistency? Yes. Your lack of patience?
Yes.
We can and will help you understand your horse better, yourself
better, even help you get along better with your family, kids,
co-
workers and friends, with your heavenly Father who loves you
very much. We really want to help in any way that we can. We
want to do the very best to make this hour the best hour of the
week and we will work very hard for you because we know your
hour is important.
John and Jody, along with Josh and Jana want to share their life
with you. So come on along. The fun is just about to start and
it promises to get better each and every week.
