Michigan Magazine
Dell and Barry travel into the communities and homes of everyday people that are making a difference in the lives of those around them or are preserving a tradition for future generations. Michigan Magazine is dedicated to finding the "real" Michigan that one will see down the side roads of the state and placing it in the "spotlight." Dell and Berry have been traveling Michigan's highways and bi-ways together on Michigan Magazine over a decade and have garnered a loyal legion of viewers who, through the program, are themselves discovering adventures in their own backyard. Dell, born in Flint and raised in Clio, Michigan had a tremendous background in entertainment and music. Dell's younger years found him recording and charting hits on local radio stations. His love of the state and its people were subject of many original compositions. Dell composed and performs the Michigan Magazine Theme song "Soar Like an Eagle"... that beckons weekly viewers to "...follow us where we go." Barry, also born in Flint, was raised in rural northern Michigan's Amish country near Fairview, Michigan. Barry quickly found outlets for his fascination with broadcasting by securing part time work at a local radio station while still in high school. From there Barry worked at various radio stations throughout Michigan at various positions from DJ to Program Director and talk show host. Barry was swept into TV via a local cable company and his own local news and talk show. When the pair met they discovered their mutual love of Michigan's back roads and the people with stories to tell... the rest is as they say "history." Dell and Barry joined forces and pooled their resources to begin producing and distributing Michigan Magazine to public television stations across the state. The weekly series also created a demand by viewers to produce a quarterly magazine that now highlights the travels of the pair. The Michigan Magazine "Magazine" celebrated its 10th anniversary in May of 2002. A museum was then built that houses the artwork and gifts they've received from the guests and places they feature on the program. The museum is a non-profit organization that acts as an educational outlet and tourist attraction visited by thousands of loyal viewers each year. Here viewers get the chance to experience what they've seen on the program. Contact:Michigan Magazine Box 503 Rose City, MI 84654 www.michiganmagazine.com
