Country music legend Mickey Gilley is returning to television in his all-new show, "Gilley's Place." The show stars the honky tonk piano playing superstar as host, along with his lovely and talented co-host, Dalena Ditto. The show is filmed in front of a live studio audience each week at, Gilley's Texas Café, located in the heart of the world famous Branson Strip, 76 Country Music Boulevard. Before Gilley became a world renowned country music superstar, he had his own
television show in Texas.
"Back when I had the club there in Pasadena, I had my own television show called, crazy as it sounds, ‘Gilley's Place,'" the country legend said. "I had a lot of fun doing that show. I really want to bring a little of what we had back then to our new project."
Gilley has called Branson, Missouri, also known as "The Live Show Capitol of the World," home for more than 25 years. Branson is nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in southwest Missouri and is home to more than 100 live music shows, dozens of pristine golf courses, several lakes and thousands of retail shops. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Although Gilley has performed for millions of fans the world over, including movie stars, politicians and Presidents, Gilley is no stranger to the small screen. He has appeared as a special guest on hit shows like "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island" and "Murder, She Wrote." His experience in front of the camera, as well as his unmatched connection with the audience, makes this new television project a perfect fit. "I enjoy meeting theses guests, listening to them perform and hearing their stories," he said. "With Dalena by my side, I think we offer a great one-two punch as host and co-host. We always make sure we have
lots of fun.
Each week the duo of Gilley and Ditto welcome internationally known acts ranging from Rock ‘n' Roll Hall of Famer Bill Medley, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, the Oak Ridge Boys and Ray Stevens to Branson staples like Paul Harris, Clay Cooper and Buck Trent. "We have so much talent and so many great performers that travel through our quiet mountain town, you never know who might stop by my place," he said. "But I'll guarantee you they will be some of the best performers in the world today. I just hope all my fans out there have as much fun watching this show as we did making it."
