The richest one-day rodeo isn't for a few days yet – Sunday, March 2, to be exact.

To help pass the time, get social with us here at RFD-TV and THE AMERICAN. Tell us what you're looking forward to the most by going to or sending a tweet to @RFDTVAmerican using the hashtag #AMERICANbyRANGER.

We aren't the only ones posting how excited we are about THE AMERICAN. You can check out what some of those competing have to say.

"Lot's of practicing this week. Focus, determination, keep it fresh. #balance," wrote Fred Whitfield in a post on Twitter on Monday, Feb. 24.

"Thanks for the tweets today. I haven't been this excited about roping in 14 months!" wrote tie-down roper Justin Maass, which also included the hashtag #pumped.

One bull rider took the opportunity to congratulate his competition on qualifying at the Mesquite Semi-Finals.

Viewing parties

Nothing can replace walking into an arena filled with dirt – the smell, the sounds, and the lights shining down where tough-enough cowboys and cowgirls will show their grit.

But if you can't be there on Sunday, you're next best bet is to watch it all go down on TV.

RFD-TV will broadcast live coverage of THE AMERICAN beginning at noon EST. (11 a.m. CST.) with a "Road to the American Special" hosted by Justin McKee, followed by the event itself at 2 p.m. EST. (1 p.m. CST)

Gather your friends and family for a fun viewing party. You don't want them to miss finding out who will go down in the history of rodeo as the winner of THE AMERICAN.
