Rural Media Group Named Two Of The Top 16 “Best Bargains” In Entertainment



Operators Rank RFD-TV and FamilyNet for the Third Year in a Row

(NASHVILLE, TN – JUNE 3, 2015) RFD-TV and FamilyNet have been ranked as two of the top 16 “Best Bargain” cable networks according to the 20th Annual Cable Network Evaluation Survey. Conducted by Independent Cable News, the survey provides specific data on 143 national, basic, cable networks and their relationships with smaller system operators.

“For the third year in a row, Rural Media Group’s networks have made the cut, demonstrating consistent value to a very important group of MVPD’s,” said Peter Clifford, SVP, Affiliate Sales.

Operators ranked each cable network on pricing as “A Bargain,” “Reasonable,” “Too High,” or “Outrageous.” FamilyNet ranked #12 and RFD-TV at #16 in the top list of networks who were considered “A Bargain.” RFD-TV was also listed as one of the top networks that operators would most like to add to their channel lineup.

Both networks have continued to see distribution growth with RFD-TV up 13% since 2013 and available in 48 million households across North America. Top programs for the network include Midwest Country, The Marty Stuart Show, Market Day Report, Rural Evening News, and Western Sports Weekly.

FamilyNet has also seen distribution growth, up 20% since 2013 and available in 25 million homes. TV classics such as All In The Family, Barney Miller and Sanford and Son are top programs that continue to drive overall ratings growth for the network.
