RURAL TOWN HALL SPECIAL GUEST: DR. BEN CARSON
Dr. Carson grew up in Detroit with a dream of becoming a physician, which led him to attend Yale University and then the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Dr. Carson served 29 years directing pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. In 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush. In addition to authoring several books, Dr. Carson founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which has awarded over 7,500 scholarships since it began in 1994. Carson and his wife, Candy, have three grown children and live in West Friendship, Maryland.
