NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFDTV) - Presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson took time during his RURAL TOWN HALL appearance to share his views on taxes.  Isaiah Shnurman of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, specifically asked about Carson's views on "death tax" or "estate tax." However, Dr. Carson took the opportunity to share his views on the federal tax structure overall.

"Well you know I’m not a big tax person in general," Dr. Carson said. "Which is why I have advocated a proportional tax based on the Bible quite frankly. I think God’s a pretty fair person and if He thinks proportionality is good, then I’m good with it too. You make $10 billion dollars a year you pay a billion. You make $10 a year, you pay one. Everybody gets the same rights and privileges. Get rid of all the deductions and all the loopholes."

If elected president in 2016, Dr. Carson said he would fight to repeal the "death tax" because "you don't tax anything twice -- including estates."
