Santorum Addresses FFA Question

October 8, 2015

NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFDTV) – During RFD-TV’s RURAL TOWN HALL, members of Iowa FFA Association were in attendance to converse with 2016 presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Erica Baier, current state officer, brings up the concerns of young people today understanding agriculture:

“How concerned would you be that young people today understand agriculture and food better, and would you be supportive towards those efforts?” asked Baier.

“Most young people – well, most people generally – think food comes from a grocery store. They don’t realize where or how it got there.” says Santorum. “They don’t realize if we make it unprofitable for our farmers to be able to compete and grow crops at a reasonable price then, you know, that grocery store prices are going to go up, and you’re going to have scarcity and all sorts of other issues.”

Watch Santorum’s complete answer in the video above and see how he addresses other issues important to rural Americans on RURAL TOWN HALL.
