NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) The North Carolina bull rider, J.B. Mauney, clinched his second World Championship Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center. Mauney did this in front of over 16,000 fans and he became the richest western sports athlete in history with career earnings of over $6.7 million.

It had already been confirmed that Mauney was, in fact the new World Champion before he ever got on “Bruiser", the bull that broke his jaw in Vegas in 2014. Mauney said he told himself he wasn't a winner until he covered the bull so that's just what he did.

Mauney not only made it to 8 seconds, but earned a score of 92.75 points proving why he is the number one man. He met with Dr. Tandy Freeman first thing on Sunday morning and discovered that he had sprained a joint in his left arm when bruiser knocked him in the chest after his ride. Mauney was unable to ride his last 2 bulls on Sunday due to the injury, but is expected to be back able to ride for the 2016 tour.

After being named the 2015 PBR World Champion, during his press conference, Mauney described the heart and try it takes to be a world champion.
