Stop Verizon Fios TV from dropping RFD-TV Stop Verizon Fios TV from dropping RFD-TV

December 30, 2015

On Christmas Eve, Verizon FiOS TV notified viewers that they intend to drop RFD-TV on January 31.  Once again, we have to ask you to help save rural and senior programming.  E-mail or send your letter of support today to or mail to RFD-TV, 49 Music Square West, Suite 301, Nashville, TN  37203.  We will then personally deliver your comments to the Verizon executives in New York, and government officials in Washington, DC.

Below is a personal note to viewers from RFD-TV president and founder Patrick Gottsch.

Thank you so much for your comments and letter of support for RFD-TV and RFD HD.

I am very frustrated to have to keep asking for RFD-TV's audience for support in these battles, but it is the one thing that works with these companies who continue to target our rural, senior, family-oriented programming.  They pay attention to the public, and their customers.

This is going to be a tough one.  Every possible effort must be made, and quickly, as Verizon FiOS TV has already dropped other rural channels including The Weather Channel, the Outdoor Channel, and Blue Highways TV in the last year.  FiOS TV never discussed this possibility with us, and were in fact, discussing adding RFD HD just a few weeks ago.

I will be back with you soon with other organized suggestions as conditions warrant.

I sincerely appreciate your support and follow through.  It really has been our viewers that have had our back every time that RFD-TV is challenged.  Over 70,000 people wrote the FCC, and I thought that ended these attacks once and for all.  Obviously, it has not, and we have to do this one more time.  I promise you that we will never give up, as your support inspires everyone at RFD-TV that we are doing the right thing.

I will keep you informed.

Patrick Gottsch
