Critical fire weather has been the story line the past few weeks in the southern plains, Midwest, and southwest.  These conditions escalate quickly with windy conditions, low relative humidity, and little rainfall.  Range burning is not advised when these advisories are out, and dangerous fire situations can occur.

One big fire danger is a Firenado, generally associated forest fires.  The incredible heat from the fire can form a low pressure (rising air), and with strong wind shear (winds from different directions), can get rotation of the fire into a vertical motion.  Here's an example of how it can happen.  Do not try this at home!
