Helping Fire-Ravaged Pastures

How you can help land destroyed by Anderson Creek Fire. How you can help land destroyed by Anderson Creek Fire.

Kansas and Oklahoma Ranchers are getting help to rebuild pastures after the Anderson Creek Fire destroyed those lands in March.

The Comanche Pool Prairie Resource Foundation partnered with private donors and federal agencies to restore nearly 400,000 acres. Earlier this year, the blaze destroyed 100 miles of fencing, 12 homes, and claimed more than 600 head of cattle.

Funds will help remove dead trees, replace fencing, and reseed the grazing areas. Officials believe that it will take between three and seven years to fully restore the land.
