NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) As RODEO HOUSTON continues, Super Series III wrapped up last night.
In the bareback riding, Jake Vold made an 89 point ride on a Calgary Stampede horse to win Round 3 and earn $3,000 which helped him advance on to the semi finals. Splitting the win in Round 1 and winning Round 2 to earn the most in the bareback riding in Super Series III was 3-time World Champion Will Lowe.
In the saddle bronc riding, Jacobs Crawley had an impressive 91 point ride to win Round 3. He actually won all three rounds in Super Series III, bringing his total winnings to $9,000.
In the team roping, Clay Smith and Paul Eaves wowed the crowd with a 4.3 second run. Not only will they advance on to Semi-Finals, but their performance in Round 3 is the fastest run of RODEO HOUSTON thus far.
In the barrel racing, Stevi Hillman stopped the clock at 14.18 seconds, making this her second round win in Super Series III.
Rodeo Austin‘s Ride for the Brand Cowboy Tournament is also going on now in Austin, Texas.
At the top of the leader board in the team roping is the duo of Dustin Egusquiza and Kory Koontz. Currently in the top 5 of the PRCA World Standings, they roped their calf in a quick 3.9 seconds.
In the bull riding, Aaron Pass made an 88 point ride on “Caption Crunch” last night at Rodeo Austin. He’s splitting second with Garrett Smith, while Ty Wallace’s 90 point ride is still on top of the leader board. Josh Peek, who is ranked 4th in the PRCA All Around World Standings and 5th in the Steer Wrestling World Standings, was 3.8 seconds in the steer wrestling. He is currently splitting the lead in the round with Cody Cabral.
Speaking of great steer wrestling, Damian Padilla made the fastest run in recent years among all PRCA steer wrestlers last week. Padilla set an arena record at the Avi River Stampede in Fort Mohave, Arizona on March 10. His time of 2.9 seconds was also faster than any run ever made at any of the 57 National Finals Rodeos. The world record in steer wrestling is 2.4 seconds.
Padilla’s win at Fort Mohave placed him 77th in the Weather Guard PRCA World Standings, but that could soon change as the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo approaches.
Leading the PRCA Steer Wrestling World Standings is Ty Erickson with over $64,000 earned. Tyler Waguespack is sitting in the #2 spot, with Luke Branquinho trailing close behind.
