Minnesota’s planting progress has occurred very sporadically this spring because of a “weather roller coaster,” but a recent stretch of warm, dry conditions proves that farmers are able to take advantage of windows of opportunity, no matter how small.

Just when it was looking like a spring with planting delays, the weather turned favorable and farmers took to the fields. And they didn’t stop. Many farmers are now done with both corn and soybean planting. In many fields, the corn crop can be rowed and the soybeans are not far behind. Now farmers will be dealing with weed and insect control.
