Top agriculture economists discuss the 29-billion-dollar haircut to crop insurance. This cut could jeopardize farmers’ ability to receive financing. Farm income has decreased causing many farmers to depend on loans. The United States Department of Agriculture is working to link the need for crop insurance to the availability of credit. This report is expected to be released in July.
