CMA Music Festival is traditionally the time when artists host parties just for members of their fan club. This year, RFDTV.com went to Warner Bros. Records to see a few parties and to give you an insider's look.
William Michael Morgan, known for his No. 1 single "I Met a Girl," was too excited to be tired at his first fan club party. But he had every right to be exhausted.
"We just rolled into town," Morgan said, settling his long frame onto a small couch at the Warner Bros. office. "We’ve had a busy CMA week and then we went out to Iowa last night and played with Old Dominion. It was a great show and we just got back into town with enough time to hop in the shower and head over here."
Despite the early hour, you can tell he's ready for the event to begin and to spend one-on-one time with his fans. "They're the reason I do what I do," he said with an earnest look. "They’re the reason I have a job. For them to come up here and want to spend some time with us, in an intimate setting like this, it just means the world to me."
With just his guitar and a sideman, Morgan proceeded to play music from his latest album, "Vinyl" including "Cheap Cologne," "Missing," and "Beer Drinker." The stripped-down acoustic performance showcased his deep, clear voice and he nailed covers of George Strait's "The Chair," Mark Chesnutt's "Brother Jukebox," and Keith Whitley's "I Never Go Around Mirrors." Naturally, the show ended with his biggest hit, "I Met A Girl" with many in the audience singing along.
Then it was time to meet the fans. Signing hats and posters and posing for pictures, Morgan seemed to relish the meet-and-greet. "It's a busy week, but a great week," he said.
Singer RaeLynn knows the importance of her fans. They cheered her success on season two of the hit reality show, "The Voice." And they supported her "God Made Girls" song which cracked the Billboard Top Ten Country Songs chart in 2014. Now there was an even better reason to celebrate with them.
Last year, the Texas-native signed with Warner Bros. and released her heart-breaking single, "Love Triangle." The song peaked at 26, but it set up success for her album. "WildHorse" landed within the Top 10 on Billboard’s All-Genre Album Sales Chart and debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.
Sporting a sheer dress, tall black boots and rhinestones around her eyes, RaeLynn welcomed fans with a few songs from her latest album. The four-song set included "Love Triangle," "WildHorse," "Your Heart," and her new single, "Lonely Call," which inspired some of the decor at her party. Fans posed with the pink telephone booths scattered throughout the lobby.
The star made herself easily accessible to fans, mingling in the middle of the crowd and then posing for pictures. Posing with fans for official photos, she often draped her arm around their shoulders--as if they'd been friends for years.
