RFD-TV to Broadcast the 2017 National FFA Convention LIVE from Indianapolis, IN
Simulcasts of the Convention Will Also Be Broadcast on RURAL RADIO Channel 147 on SiriusXM and The Cowboy Channel
Coverage Will Run Wednesday, October 25th – Saturday, October 28th
(NASHVILLE, TENN. — October 25th, 2017) More than 65,000 FFA members are expected to attend the 90th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. Viewers can watch live coverage from the annual event starting Wednesday, October 25th, 2017, on RFD-TV, RURAL RADIO Channel 147, and The Cowboy Channel. This will be the 12th year of RFD-TV’s live broadcast coverage of the National Convention, which is themed is "I Can. We Will!" In addition to the comprehensive on-air coverage, we will also be reporting online and via social. Viewers can also watch live online and on-demand on RFD-TV’s The Country Club.
The coverage will deliver hours of live programming including pre-and post-session highlights with veteran farm broadcaster, Orion Samuelson, and RFD-TV and RURAL RADIO anchors, Janet Adkison and Mark Oppold. We’ll also cover convention highlights, keynote speeches from Laila Ali, incoming and outgoing National Officers, American FFA Degree recipients, the Culver’s Wednesday concert with Rascal Flatts and Runaway June, the FFA Band and Chorus Concert, and more!
Viewers should be aware that this coverage will interrupt regularly scheduled programming during these dates.
Convention and expo events will take place in downtown Indianapolis and surrounding areas. The general sessions will be held at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. At the Indiana Convention Center, members can explore the expo or expand their minds by attending a variety of workshops or participating in education and career success tours. Formed in 1928, the National FFA Organization fosters premier leadership, personal growth and career success in its more than 600,000 student members through agricultural education.
Conference attendees can visit RFD-TV’s booth, #161, where we will have autograph signings and live acoustic performances from Orion Samuelson, Heisman winner, Johnny Rodgers, and FFA affiliated country artist’s Jericho Woods, Chase Cummings, and Michael Johnathon of WoodSongs and WoodSong’s Kids. In addition, attendees can pick up “Flat Orion’s” at the RFD-TV booth to take photos around the convention.
