President Donald Trump’s infrastructure proposal designates 25 percent of new federal funds to projects in rural areas. Industry leaders say applying a good portion of that money to rural broadband could have a dramatic effect on America’s overall economy. 

RFD-TV’s John Jenkinson sat down with representatives from two industry leaders – Jim Matheson, CEO of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), and Tom Halverson, CEO of CoBANK – to understand what’s driving the push for better broadband. Other topics covered include the current state of the rural economy, and the much anticipated Farm Bill.
