Western Countries Unite To Keep African Swine Fever At Bay

China loses more than 100 million hogs to African Swine Fever as the Eastern Hemisphere tries to contain the virus, Western countries unite to keep the disease off this side of the globe.

U.S. veterinary officials joined with their Canadian, Mexican, and Pan-American counterparts in Yucatan. At the meeting, they discussed working together and creating scenarios of how to treat and prevent ASF from spreading. The USDA and national pork board will conduct a training drill later this month to simulate a domestic ASF outbreak.
