Georgia Congressman Running For Leadership of House Ag Committee

Georgia congressman, Austin Scott, tosses his hat into the running for leadership of the House Agriculture Committee.

He says he would prioritize streamlining the Disaster Relief Process, focus on broadband and rural development, and consider reforms for crop subsidies and the supplemental nutrition assistance program.

Scott currently is serving his fourth term as the Rep for Georgia’s Eighth Congressional District. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit. He joins Glenn Thompson of Pennsylvania and Rick Crawford of Arkansas in the race for top spot which is chosen by the ‘Republican Steering Committee’ after the 2020 elections.
