Fighting ASF with Bigger, Cleaner Pig Farms.

A top Chinese pork producer plans to build bigger, cleaner farms to prevent ASF from spreading.

Biosecurity upgrades include on-site feed mills and slaughter plants in addition to new facilities. It plans to restock the farms infected by African Swine Fever. Since 2018, the company lost 10 percent of its sow herd to the disease. Officials estimate 90 percent of China’s farms need to improve biosecurity measures.
