Court Halts Wheat Manipulation

A Chicago court rules against giant food corporations in a censorship case.

Earlier this year, Kraft Foods and Mondelez were accused of making a $5 and half-million profit by manipulating the wheat market to drive down prices in 2011. The companies sued the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for breaching a gag order, however, a panel of judges threw out the case saying the public comments were legal. CFTC and the companies reached “a binding agreement.” in the case.
