Fuel stations running out of fuel and rationing, but do not panic buy

Some gas stations across the southeast have started running out of fuel. Some stations with limited supply have placed a cap on fill-ups.

The Colonial Pipeline, which supplies 45 percent of the fuel on the east coast, was hacked over the weekend. Colonial predicts most of its service will be restored by Friday, but what happens in the meantime is anyone’s guess.

Industry analysts say that there is no need to panic buy, but the largest U.S. refinery has stopped two crude units in Port Arthur, Texas.
