Consumer Price Index: Inflation is finally easing

The Consumer Price Index was released today and it came in below market expectations, showing signs that inflation is easing.

The November read came in a 7.1 percent, well below the expectation of 7.3 percent.

Gasoline fell 2 percent during November but is still up 10 percent during the year.

Food prices fell slightly, down 0.5 percent in November and coming in at 10.6 percent higher on the year.
