Federal government announces $306 million in additional high path avian flu spending

The federal government is set to spend $306 million on high path avian flu monitoring and preparedness.

The CDC says that the money is part of a new strategy to improve the protection and monitoring of the poultry and dairy workforce.
It expands upon efforts first launched last July.

The money will go towards outreach campaigns to educate high-rish workers on personal protective equipment, encouraging seasonal flu vaccinations, and raise vigilance for protecting against further outbreaks.
