A Georgia soybean grower is once again taking home the gold for a record yield. It is his second win, smashing last year’s numbers!
Alex Harwell is this year’s winner of the Georgia Soybean Production Contest, beating out his own record. He grew 218 bushels per acre, and last year’s record was just shy of 207 bushels.
Harwell says he used different genetic and herbicide traits this year, and he also planted fields across the country from last year. The 218 bushels per acre is now the highest-yielding soybeans in the world.
