California’s strawberry industry is anticipating great quality in their yields this fall.
Conditions in July were both sunnier and warmer than average, making for fair-quality berries that consumers enjoy!
According to one grower, prices this year are trending $8-10 less than last year. Describing it as a listless market, growers have an estimated three months left in the season to meet their return on investment which could prove challenging.
However, with the days growing shorter, quality is only expected to improve and with kids back in school, the Salinas-Watsonville growers expect for market improvements as well.
