    A Cargill meat processing facility in Dodge City, Kansas caught fire on Friday, but the blaze was quickly contained. Meatingplace.com reports the plant is now operating normally. Also on Friday, in Chester Township, Ohio, flames destroyed an empty chicken barn at Shaggy Apple Farm. No animals were harmed in the fire.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Animal rights groups are suing California over rules that allow animals to be hunted with the aid of hunting dogs wearing GPS tracking devices on their collars. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, which filed the lawsuit last week in Sacramento Superior Court, called the hunting method “unusually cruel and unfair.”

    BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Three hunters were injured in two separate grizzly bear attacks in the same area of southwestern Montana less than 12 hours apart, wildlife officials said. Earlier this week officials had released information on how to avoid bear-human interactions after a grizzly bear had to euthanized in Great Falls, Montana earlier this month.

They think the waterhemp that's been discovered may be resistant to glyphosate and this particular weed needs multiple forms of treatment rather than pre and post-emergence. Agents are also seeing leaves fall off of soybean plants.

    The Trump Administration has reportedly agreed to boost the biofuel sector by re-allocating 3 years of waived biofuel blending quotas starting next year. According to Informa, the EPA will start calculating waivers into future quotas starting with the 2020 targets. They would come in a 3 year rolling average of exemptions meaning 2020 would reflect waivers issued in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Reuters reports the herd fell by almost 39-percent in August compared to last year's decline of 37-percent. Pork prices have jumped by 78-percent compared to the same period a year ago driving the country's 'food price index' to the highest since January of 2012.
