The latest U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Poultry & Eggs Market Outlook shows a rise in egg sets and chick placements, signaling an increase in poultry production. Last week, hatcheries set approximately 249.3 million eggs, marking a two-percent increase year-over-year. Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina led the charge in egg sets. Additionally, 191.2 million chicks were placed into meat production, representing a three percent rise since 2025. As the year progresses, the increase in poultry production is helping to meet growing consumer demand.
