No More Imports: Philippines bans poultry imports from California after HPAI outbreaks

Ag officials in the Philippines have temporarily banned imports of chicken and other poultry products from several countries and California over recent outbreaks of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza.

The ban includes imports of domestic and wild birds, poultry meat, day-old chicks, and eggs. The order also bans poultry imports from Hungary and Japan.

Earlier this year, the Philippines government banned imports of birds from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and both Dakotas after those states reported a surge of the virus in domestic flocks.
