Oklahoma lawmakers green light a bill to limit foreign ag land ownership

Lawmakers in the Sooner State are one step closer to addressing foreign ag land ownership.

Senators in Oklahoma gave their final approval on a bill to fight against illegal purchases of land by non-U.S. citizens. One lawmaker says more than 350,000 acres of land have been illegally purchased following the state’s legalization of medical marijuana. The bill would close loopholes and add an affidavit to the buying process.

It now heads to the Governor’s desk.
