President-elect Trump nominates Marty Makary as FDA Commissioner

President-elect Trump has made a big pick for the FDA.

He has nominated Marty Makary, a well-known surgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University. In the past, Makary has described the U.S. food supply as “poison” and has said pesticides have a direct link to cancer. He is expected to work alongside Robert Kennedy Jr on shaping food policy.

President-elect Trump says Makary will refocus the FDA and will help end the childhood chronic disease epidemic.
