Proposed $140 million Kansas water plan includes a $8 million ag irrigation fee

State officials in Kansas are seeking public input as they try to determine the best path moving forward on funding for new statewide water plans.

Years of drought have brought the state’s water issues to the forefront of the minds of many.
While funding is currently capped at $60 million a year, government agencies are looking to increase that amount to $140 million.

The decades-long proposal includes an $8 million ag irrigation water use fee.

A series of input meetings will take place over the next two weeks.
