U.S. refiners are asking for a delay to roll out the sale of E15 year-round.
After a recent industry meeting, Shell, Phillips 66, and Chevron were among the oil giants looking to push the year-round roll-out back a year until May 2024. They are making the request for a fuel specification change in eight states that would support year-round sales and say they need more time to comply.
Just last month, the EPA set this year’s Renewable Fuel Standard at 20.82 billion gallons with 15 billion gallons coming from fuels like ethanol.
