Renewable diesel production is slowing down in the U.S.

Renewable diesel production in the U.S. is slowing down, with prior estimates off by nearly a billion gallons.

In 2021, renewable diesel capacity was estimated to reach 6 billion gallons by next year. Now, that estimate is at 5.1 billion gallons.

Researchers at the University of Illinois say there are a lot of projects in the works, but no new facilities are under construction. They say there is a chance for a rebound however, but that depends on policy changes in Washington.
