Senate could follow suit this week in disapproving the new WOTUS rule

Senate lawmakers are set to vote on a resolution this week, and they are expected to disapprove the Biden Administration’s new WOTUS rule.

The House passed a similar resolution last week filed by Missouri Congressman Sam Graves. Senator Shelly Moore Capito from West Virginia filed the Senate version, which she says is an important step in overturning the new rule.

The resolution is expected to pass but the White House says President Biden will use his veto power. If it were to be approved, the Navigable Waters Protection Rule would be law until the Supreme Court hands down a decision in the Sackett case.
