Shifting Shopping Trends: Shoppers are still buying groceries online even after the pandemic lockdowns

Consumer habits are constantly changing, including how they shop!

A new study out of USDA shows that one in five Americans shop online for their groceries at least once a month. The prevalence of online grocery shopping really took hold in 202 during the pandemic lockdowns, but the practice has held true to today.

The study found online grocery shopping was more likely among several demographics, including people 15 to 24 years old, women, people with a spouse or partner present, and households with children under the age of 18.

The top three reasons for shopping for food online include time constraints, convenience, and concerns for physical safety.
